Anyone seen the Benadryl?
Bryce woke up this morning with hives all over his body. He was surprisingly happy and energetic and had no other symptoms. After not seeing any improvement even after a good dosage of benadryl I took him over to Urgent Care and discovered that it is possible to have an allergic reaction to amoxicillin (medicine we gave him for his ear infection) a week after starting it. Luckily he seems to feel better than he looks, although I think his face itches him a lot. The doctor said the hives may last a few days but will go away on their own now that we've stopped the amoxicillin.

South Mountain Creamery
After the Zoo, we ate lunch and the boys slept in the car while we picked up my dad and headed over to South Mountain Creamery. Its a dairy farm with really good milk and ice-cream. At 4:00 everyday they let the public bottle feed the baby cows.
Bryce wasn't too sure about the cows. One of them kept mooing really loud at us and it made Bryce cry. After that he didn't want to get any closer than about 8 feet from them.
The baby cows were more aggressive feeders than we thought. We had to help Tyler feed them because they would push and pull on the bottle really hard. They were really hungry.
Afterwards we enjoyed really good South Mountain ice-cream. Its been a really fun trip. I told Tyler we were going home on the airplane tomorrow and he said he doesn't want to leave Nana and Pop's yet. I'm sure Andy misses us though. Hopefully the airplane flight will go smoothly too!

Catoctin Zoo
Today was our last day in Maryland with my parents so we tried to fit a lot in. It was another beautiful day, probably in the 70s. We found this small zoo just up the free way from my parents. It wasn't very crowded and still had lots of "main attractions" for the kids like Lions, Tigers, snakes, Zebras etc.
Tyler really liked this Koi pond with huge goldfish. They'd come right up to the surface of the water and open their mouths for you to feed them.
Even Bryce liked watching them splash at the food.
They had a little petting zoo too. I was proud of Tyler for being brave enough to approach the fences. I think he felt safer once he realized they couldn't get out of their "caves" (Tyler's word for cage).

Visiting Janine in Leesburg
On Monday I was able to visit with my friend Janine and her two kids, Sophie and Spencer. Janine and I were roommates all through college. She lives in Virginia now and I love that I can still visit her when I go to see my parents.
We met at an outlet mall in Leesburg, VA and the kids had fun playing on the playground for a little while.

Day 3
We spent the first half of today at the Urgent Care/ Pharmacy here in Maryland. After Bryce had another day of fever and no appetite we decided it was more than just teething. I took him to the Urgent Care here this morning and he was running a fever of 103. He was falling asleep in my arms as the doctor examined him (which he never does). Luckily we found out it was just an ear infection. We got him some medicine and he's done a 180 over the course of the day. He ate a good dinner and finally started laughing, smiling, talking and playing again. He's even started crawling finally!!! Its still an army crawl, but at least it something.

We went for a drive out to West Virginia this afternoon and then Tyler got to play some games on the Wii. He's about as good as I am on them. Which says more about me than him.

Day 2 Cont.
When Bryce is happy and feeling better - Mom's happy too!
Tyler playing at the park. It was in the 80s today. We were sweating while we were walking. We're having a fun time, but missing Andy back in Provo too. (Most of these long posts are for Andy to see the boys and what we've been up to while we're away). After the park we visited my dad's shoe store so he could show off his grandsons to all of his employees. Tyler said his favorite part of the day was running around the close racks at Pop's store.

Maryland Day 2
Tyler was initially afraid of my parent's dog, Brady. But today he was brave enough to walk him all by himself.
I think Tyler enjoyed having a little bit of power over something. I love how green everything is here. Spring is here. Everything is blooming.
My mom and I took the boys for a walk in Baker Park and saw this huge turtle in the river.
The look on Bryce's face in this picture pretty much sums up how he's felt since we arrived. He's cutting his two front teeth and feeling pretty miserable. He's been running a fever, had no appetite, and been pretty fussy. I finally got him some Motrin today and he's shown some signs of improvement.

Maryland - Day 1
This is the cool park made out of recycled materials.
Its called Cunningham Falls State Park
I could think of so many tasks to do on this equipment.
Tyler liked playing with the dragon.

Happy Easter?
No cute Easter pictures in front of Spring flowers in handsome Sunday Easter clothes this year. We awoke to an inch of snow on the ground yesterday and we didn't even go to church because it was our church's semi-annual general conference. So we stayed home and listened to Easter messages on t.v. instead. The Easter bunny did find the Ferguson boys in the basement of Grandma and Grandpa's house and left them a little Easter surprise. Bryce's eggs had cereal in them and Tyler's had candy. I love Bryce's enthusiasm in this picture over finding his first egg.
Bryce is taking his time learning to crawl. To get where he wants to go he crawls backwards and then turns around. An interesting way to get through life that we hope doesn't continue beyond infancy. He has become quite the yacker lately, making all kinds of sounds like mama, dada, nana, baba, and some other strange constant combination. He loves to play with paper and will destroy any magazine, book or mailing ad within his reach. His other new skill includes having lighting quick reflexes for knocking over block towers. He loves this game.

The Little Chocolatiers Air Date
I saw on the TLC website the other night that they're going to air an episode where the Hatch's create an underwater sea scape. I'm assuming this is also probably the episode where they visit the aquarium. Its airs Tuesday, April 13th at 10/9 pm central time. We don't know if any of the footage of Tyler and his cousins will actually make it on the show but we'll be watching to find out.
